Ayahuasca

A plant known as Ayahuasca can be found in the Amazon, used by the local aboriginals as a hallucinogenic when brewed properly which induces a near death experience.  This plant was discovered by an ethnobotanist in the 1950’s.

In a book by Beatriz Caiuby Labate and Clancy Cavnar on the Therapeutic Use of Ayahuasca, Jose Carlos Bouso and Jordi Riba studied the use of this plant in the treatment of drug addiction.  This plant plays a shamanistic and religious role in the indigenous mestizo communities it originate from.  Success rates in the treatment of drug addiction have shown an decrease in the addictive behaviour when compared to other standard practices.

This plants contains beta-carbolize alkaloids harming, hardline and tetrahydroarmine and rich in the psychedelic compound DMT.  When boiled with other plant species, they are known to produce varying visions.
